Rock On!!

In Physical Therapy, we have been working on building LA's core muscles as well as her arm strength. She still needs a little help getting "up," but as you can see, she is starting to get the hang of being off her tummy! I am especially proud of her today because she couldn't do this a week ago! (Ignore my high pitched voice...she loves it and it makes her smile so I'll sound like a fool for her!)

Laundry Day!

Even after touting to Lily Anne how much "fun" folding laundry is...she found SITTING in the laundry more entertaining.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

We have cancelled school before for snow, hurricanes and even loss of power...but today is a first. We are not in school because of flooding! It has been raining for DAYS and when I say rain...we aren't talking light sprinkles. It has been POURING! Yesterday, was the worst of it all.

LA's daycare is literally a mile from our house. It took me 40 minutes to get from our house to her school yesterday. When I got closer, I realized why...the other side of the road was completely flooded over (and we are talking about a major 4 lane highway). After I picked her up and got her loaded back in the car, I realized that there was not longer any traffic on the road. THEY CLOSED THE ROAD! Luckily, I was allowed to get out and go home. It made me sick to think that had I been 5 minutes later, I would not have been able to get to LA. All those poor kiddos still at school (and it was only 3:30 so there were a lot of them there)....

We have fared fine here at the house. No flooding or any other issues. These pictures are taken just about 2-3 miles from our house. What a mess! (Thanks Debi for the link).

So, here on Tuesday, we are all (including Justin who decided it was best to work from home) safe, sound and DRY here at home. Hopefully these waters will recede soon.

Seven Months!

It's Carter's Big Day!

So, who is Carter you ask? If you are part of the Shallowford Falls Family, you know our little buddy Carter Richards. For the rest of you, Carter was a student in my class a couple of years ago when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. He is doing well (you can keep up with Carter and his family on their website). He is a very spirited young boy and his family is just wonderful. With all they have going on, his mom Christy always checks in on LA and I just adore her!

WAR EAGLE!

It's Saturday and that only means one thing come September...it's time for FOOTBALL! Since we are a "mixed marriage," our sweet little bean has to take turns showing her team spirit. Last week she sported her Georgia gear, but oops, we forgot to take a picture. This week, she is a Tiger and a very cute one at that! Actually, she was born to be a Tiger with her blue eyes and Auburn hair :)
