Scootin'
As you know, we have been working very hard to help LA put weight on her arms...well, apparently, she has figured out the advantages to doing so! She has started to "scoot" for lack of a better verb. When she wants something, she knows how to go get it and is VERY determined. I think we can officially call her MOBILE! One of these days, she will figure out how to coordinate her arms and legs together and crawl. In the meantime, thank goodness she is still slow (because we all know what comes next)!!!! Guess it is time to start baby-proofing the house.

Pumpkin Day!
WARNING--PICTURE OVERLOAD! (And the sad part is, this is just a sampling of the pictures taken today).
October has been an absolute whirlwind with visitors, travel, and, unfortunately, illness. So, when we finally had the PERFECT day to be outside and we had enough medicine to make all the sickies feeling ok, we took full advantage! Today was officially dubbed "Pumpkin Day."
After going to church, LA fell asleep in the car so we decided to tempt fate and go to IHOP for pumpkin pancakes. LA must have known how much mommy LOVES pumpkin pancakes because she kindly slept through our entire meal! After a short break at home, we headed out again to Berry Patch Farms.

She liked the little pumpkins...but she LOVED the grass. Go figure.
Now the big pumpkins...that is another story.
Have we mentioned that EVERYTHING goes in her mouth these days?

The big pumpkins aren't so scary when Daddy holds you!

You would think that would be enough excitement for the day, but you would be wrong! You see, LA fell asleep within minutes of getting in the car so we had a choice. Go home and wake her up mid-nap and reap the consequences, or take a drive. Well, we chose to drive up to one of our favorite places, Amicolola Falls. The fall leaves were beautiful on the ride up and we had a lovely afternoon.

Lily's New "Trick?"
Hmmm...so sometime over the past couple of days, Lily Anne has discovered the "art" of shaking her head. We know she doesn't associate it with "no," but we also know it won't be long before our independent girl shakes her head "no" and means it. Then it won't be so cute. Until then...how cute is she?

Eight months old!

Her hair officially has a mind of its own! What a little trooper...October has not been kind to LA. She has had a double ear infection since October 6th and we spent our first Sunday at a CHOA Urgent clinic so that she could get an antibiotic shot. Luckily, when she is on the meds, she feels better and is her typically pleasant self! Hopefully this round of antibiotics will knock this infection out!

Bannister Family Reunion
This weekend, we went to Hartwell for the Bannister/Banister Reunion(can anyone can explain to me the "n" situation?). On Saturday, we met up with Jen and Ryan to watch football--no, we are not going to talk about either game. Apparently Ryan and babies don't always mix, but LA got along great with him...and we have proof!

Sunday was the reunion and we all had a wonderful time! Here are a few pictures from today (yes, I am in a black and white mood this evening):
